Semi-Permanent Cosmetics
Permanent
Makeup
Nano brows, combo brows, powder ombré, lip blushing and upper and lower lash liner. Soft, natural results that last two to three years, so you wake up ready.
What It Is
Makeup That Is Already Done When You Wake Up
Permanent makeup places pigment into the skin to recreate what you would otherwise draw on every morning. Done well it is not obvious. Nano brows are built from individual hair-like strokes that follow the direction your own brow hair grows, and lip blushing sits as a wash of soft color rather than a drawn line.
The word permanent is slightly misleading. Pigment fades gradually over two to three years, which is a feature rather than a flaw. It means your brows can change as your face, your coloring and your taste change, instead of committing you to one shape for life.
Why Nano Brows
Perfect For Clients Who Want
Natural Hair-Like Strokes
Individual strokes that add fullness where your brow is sparse, following your own growth pattern rather than sitting on top of it as a block of color.
A Break From Daily Brow Makeup
A long-lasting alternative to filling your brows in every morning. Two to three years between full treatments, with an annual touch-up if you want the color kept crisp.
Something Less Invasive
A gentler option than microblading, which is why it suits a wider range of skin types and tends to fade more evenly as it wears.
Choosing Your Brow
Which Technique Is Right For You
All three cost the same. The honest way to choose is to decide what you want people to see, then work backwards to the technique that produces it.
I want my brows to look softly filled in every day.
Powder Ombre
I want hair strokes, but I also want definition and fullness.
Combo, Microshading
I want people to think these are my actual brow hairs.
Nano Brows
Nano brows are not microblading. The two are constantly confused. Microblading uses a manual blade to cut strokes into the skin. Nano brows use a tattoo-style PMU machine with an ultra-fine needle. Nano strokes can generally be created with less cutting of the skin, which makes them a better option for clients who are not ideal microblading candidates, including oilier and more mature skin.
Where each technique sits. Nano brows are the premium, ultra-natural option. Powder ombre is the more defined, makeup-look option. Combo sits between the two and is the usual answer when someone cannot decide.
Your Appointment
How The Process Runs
Consultation
Your artist assesses your face shape, skin type and coloring, walks you through the process and sets realistic expectations. The cost is credited to your first session.
Mapping And Color
Shape is drawn on and agreed with you before any pigment goes in, and the color is mixed to your natural tone rather than picked off a chart.
The Session
Numbing first, then the strokes are placed by hand. Expect the color to look darker and sharper immediately afterward than it will once healed.
Perfecting Session
Skin heals differently on everybody. A follow-up refines shape and evens out any areas where pigment lifted during healing.
Already Have Brow Work
Coming In With Someone Else’s Work
We take on touch-ups and cover-ups of brow tattooing done elsewhere. Here is what to know before you book.
Bring To Your Consultation
A clear photo of your brows when they were freshly done, if you have one.
Any information on the previous artist or the pigment brand used. Helpful, not required.
Worth Knowing
Results and technique depend on the condition of the existing pigment and how your skin healed.
A removal or lightening session is sometimes recommended first to get the best outcome.
More than one session may be needed depending on saturation and prior work.
Practical Details
What To Expect
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo procedure. It is not suitable during pregnancy or while nursing, or with certain skin conditions or an active infection in the area. Tell us at your consultation about any medications, blood thinners or previous reactions to pigment. Healed results vary with skin type and aftercare, and are not guaranteed.
Paying For Treatment
Spread The Cost If You Prefer
Treatment can be paid in full or financed with Affirm on orders over $50, so you can spread the cost over time rather than all at once. You will see the option at checkout.
Viva Beauty Bank members save $50 on semi-permanent makeup, on top of the balance credited to their account each month.
Common Questions
Before You Book
How is nano brows different from microblading?
Both create hair-like strokes, but nano brows uses a finer, less invasive technique. That usually means it suits more skin types, heals more predictably and fades more evenly rather than leaving patchy or ashy areas behind.
How long does it really last?
Two to three years with proper care. It fades gradually and evenly rather than disappearing all at once, and an annual touch-up keeps the color and definition crisp if you want to stay ahead of it.
Will it look too dark?
It will look darker and sharper for the first several days, which is normal and part of healing. The healed result settles softer and lighter than what you leave with. Shape and color are both agreed with you before any pigment goes in.
Do I need a touch-up after my first session?
Most people do. Skin takes pigment differently, and a perfecting session evens out any areas that lifted during healing. Brow touch-ups are $150 for existing clients; lip blushing includes a touch-up window at six to eight weeks for $125.
Can you fix brows I had done somewhere else?
Often yes. We handle fading, patchiness, asymmetry, color correction and partial cover-ups. Pricing runs $200 to $350 depending on how much correction is needed, and it is set after your artist sees your brows in person. Bring a photo of them freshly done if you have one.
Does the consultation cost extra?
No. If you decide to move forward, the cost of the consultation is credited toward your initial session.
Does it hurt?
Numbing is used throughout. Most clients describe scratching or pressure rather than pain. Lips are more sensitive than brows and we take extra time there.
