Laser Hair Removal
with Diolaze

Fast, comfortable, permanent hair reduction. Sized by area, priced by area, and safe on a wider range of skin tones than older lasers.

How It Works

Treat The Follicle, Not The Hair

Shaving and waxing deal with the hair you can see. Laser deals with the follicle underneath it. A pulse of light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft, converted to heat, and that heat disables the follicle’s ability to grow a replacement.

It only works on follicles that are actively growing, and at any given moment only a portion of the hair in an area is in that phase. That is the entire reason a course of treatments is needed rather than one visit, and why the sessions are spaced weeks apart rather than days.

Diolaze is a diode system with built-in cooling on the applicator, so the skin surface is chilled at the same moment the follicle is heated. That is what makes larger areas tolerable in one sitting.

Book By Size

Choose Your Treatment Area

Areas are grouped by how much surface the laser has to cover. If you are not sure which band your area falls into, book a consultation and we will size it for you. The examples below are a guide, not a fixed list.

Small Area

Upper lip, chin, sideburns, underarms, bikini line, hands, feet, ears or the nape of the neck.

Medium Area

Full bikini, half arms, half legs, shoulders, neck, stomach or the lower back.

Large Area

Full arms, full legs from the knee down, full back, or the chest and stomach treated together.

XL Area

Full legs, full back with shoulders, or a combination that covers most of one half of the body.

Beach Ready Package

A laser hair removal package built around the areas people most want smooth before beach season, booked as one course rather than area by area.

Your Appointment

How Treatment Runs

01

Patch Test

We assess your skin and hair, set the parameters for your skin type and test a small area before treating the whole thing.

02

Shave, Do Not Wax

Come in freshly shaved. The follicle needs to be intact underneath, so waxing, threading and plucking must stop four weeks before.

03

The Session

Eye protection on, cooled applicator passed over the area. A small upper lip takes minutes, full legs take closer to an hour.

04

Repeat And Maintain

Sessions are spaced four to eight weeks apart depending on the area. Most people need a course of six to eight, then occasional touch-ups.

Before Your Session

Shave the area within 24 hours of your appointment.

Stop waxing, threading and plucking four weeks beforehand.

No self-tanner, and no real tan, for four weeks.

Arrive with clean skin, no lotion, deodorant or makeup on the area.

After Your Session

Redness and slight bumps around the follicles are normal for a day.

No hot tubs, saunas, steam or heavy exercise for 24 to 48 hours.

Broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher on any exposed treated skin, daily.

Treated hair sheds over one to three weeks. That is the result, not regrowth.

Laser hair removal is a medical treatment and results vary. The laser targets pigment, so it works best where there is a clear contrast between dark hair and the surrounding skin. Gray, white, light blonde and fine red hair carry little pigment and respond poorly or not at all. Your provider will tell you honestly at consultation whether your hair will respond.

Tell us about your medications. Some antibiotics, acne medications and herbal supplements make skin light sensitive. Treatment is not appropriate over active infections, on recently tanned skin, or during pregnancy. Permanent hair reduction means a lasting decrease in the number and thickness of hairs, not necessarily the removal of every single one.

When Laser Is Not The Answer

Light Hair? Electrolysis.

Laser needs pigment to work. Electrolysis does not. It treats each follicle individually with a fine probe and works on gray, white, blonde and red hair that a laser cannot see. It is slower, and it is the only method that treats every hair color, which is why we offer both and often combine them.

Common Questions

Before You Book

How many sessions will I actually need?

Most people complete six to eight for a given area, though coarse hair on the face or hormonally driven growth can take more. Because only actively growing follicles respond, the sessions have to be spread out to catch each one in the right phase.

Is it permanent?

The accepted term is permanent hair reduction. A completed course leaves the area dramatically thinner and finer, and most people maintain it with an occasional session once or twice a year rather than starting over.

Does it work on darker skin?

Diode systems like Diolaze are safe across a wider range of skin tones than older lasers, with the settings adjusted for your skin type and a patch test first. Your provider will confirm suitability at consultation.

Why can I shave but not wax?

Shaving cuts the hair at the surface and leaves the follicle and its pigment intact, which is exactly what the laser needs to find. Waxing pulls the whole follicle out, so there is nothing left for the light to target.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as a warm snap against the skin. The applicator cools the surface continuously, which takes the edge off considerably compared with older machines. Sensitive areas such as the bikini line are more noticeable than legs.

Can I book it while I am pregnant?

No. We do not treat during pregnancy. Come and see us once you are ready and we will plan the course then.
